The Nottingham Sun Club was founded in 1939 on a beautiful patch of Nottinghamshire woodland which it still occupies today nearly 70 years later. The original corrugated iron pavilion has long gone but the spirit and passion for the naturist life style that first helped bring the club into being is still very much here. Nottingham Sun Club is a family orientated naturist club, owned and run by its members to provide a safe and comfortable environment in which to enjoy naturism and socialise with like minded people. The club has many facilities, central to which are the two modern pavilions. These are used for a whole range of functions, gatherings and social occasions; one of the pavilions contains the sauna room, showers and a pleasant seating area.
The second, larger pavilion has a large fully equipped kitchen and is used mainly for the many social events organised throughout the year. There is a swimming pool which is heated during the main season and in recent years has benefited from the addition of an enclosure which covers the pool (recovered for this season) and a large seating area with new tables and chairs. Sports facilities include a tennis court, 3 miniten courts, 2 petanque courts, and a volleyball court. The volleyball weekend is one of the regular main annual events when teams come from many different naturist clubs to compete. There are also tennis and petanque tournaments held throughout the season. The club grounds are a mixture of mature trees and shrubs with large open areas of grass and lawn.
In the spring members are treated to a wonderful display from the rhododendrons which grow all around the site. The secluded woodland position of the club gives a relaxing and peaceful feel to the whole area. Has you enter and close the gate the outside world is left behind and you are free to enjoy yourself. Membership is open to anyone wishing to apply. Nottingham Sun Club is a family organization and as such the management committee aims to keep a balance in the numbers of both sexes in the membership. There are however usually vacancies for all categories of membership. Visitors are most welcome, with tent, camper van, or simply by car. You can visit for the day or for a few weeks. The club is for bona-fide naturists only, therefore UK day visitors must have BN membership cards, overseas visitors must have an INF card
